WHAT TO GET HER FOR VALENTINE'S DAY

Hello! I've finally gotten around to doing the Valentines Day posts that I was going to be doing! Now, this could be for a friend, girlfriend, mother, sister, etc. It's the personal meaning that counts, especially since Valentine's Day is all about love, romantic or not. I hope you like this post, and I hope you'll check back for the "What to get him for Valentine's Day" one as well!

  1. A gift that all girls love are flowers! Some girls will act like they don't like them, but, trust me, they all secretly want to be treated to some on Valentine's Day.

If you want to be a little more special than just ordinary flowers, you can go to this website: thebouqs.com, where the flowers are cut the day you order them from the side of an active volcano.

You can order an assortment of flowers, in case you want to go a different route than just roses.

These flowers are a little more on the steep side when it comes to how much they cost, but there's no shipping cost and if you sign up for emails right now, you get 10% off your purchase! They are a quality first company that even makes sure to give their employers benefits such as childcare, healthcare, and adult education. If you want to check them out, here's their website where you can also find their FAQ and the potential to get a $10 rebate if you order by a certain time! (Unfortunately, they only ship to the U.S. right now, but hopefully they'll be expanding to other countries soon!)

2. A couple of these items I found on etsy.com, which is a website where you can purchase homemade gifts and vintage items.

This heart pendant is on sale currently at a shop on etsy called littlepurpleboat. It's a handmade item that ships worldwide and would be a perfectly themed Valentine's gift for the perfect Valentine.

3. Another form of heart jewelry can be found on the shop EpicGlows, which has beautifully vibrant bracelets and necklaces, such as this one below:

Or this necklace:

These amazing pieces of jewelry are handmade and come in beautiful packaging:

They come with a UV torch keychain that is specially made to charge up the necklace so that it can vibrantly glow throughout the night. You can get a smaller shape or a larger one, as well as a thicker chain and a different color.

4. This item is from a store called gemagenta. It is a customized lunar phase charm that you can make to be the moon that you had your first kiss with your special person under, that you gave birth to your daughter under, that you met your best friend, etc. You get to put what goes "Under This Moon" and where the location was that everything happened, the date, and the store owner will do the rest for you!

The packaging for this item is just as adorable as it is, and whomever you're giving it to will love the sentimental value that the bracelet has! You can get it in either black or red string here!

5. If your girl loves vintage items, these vintage heart shaped trinket boxes could be perfect for her.

This one is from the store ChromaticWit, and has other trinket boxes just like it in the rest of the store.

This one is from Japan.

This one is from Western Germany.

And this one is from Norleans.

6. Another beautiful Valentine's gift is a charm bracelet. It can be customized or ordered as is and still be a beautiful memento of the holiday.

This bracelet is from the shop DLaPaix, who actually specializes in Mother's Day gifts, but, each bracelet can be customized for a specific person, based on their birthday month.

Each bracelet is made out of Swarovski crystal and can contain more than one birthstone in case you were getting a gift for someone that has children (you can have the birthstone of the children's birth months on it), or if you want it to have your birthstone as well. There's different types of bracelets, some with initials on them, others with different chains.

If you search around on etsy for a while you can also come up with one of a kind charm bracelets such as this beautiful pink glass pearl one from the store IgalardStore.

Or this one from the store MadameChicvintage.

Another creative object that I found on etsy was this heart shaped cushion that was actually featured in a Valentines list on the site.

It's from the shop AUFSCHNITTberlin that even has other cushions of intestines and meat products. So there's something if you want to go an unordinary route.

Thank you so much for reading so far, hopefully your Valentine's Day will be wonderful, whether you give each other gifts or not! Remember, the day should be spent with someone you love or something you love doing. Gifts are only a way to remember the day and to show someone that you care. Anything with a little bit of thought and sentimental value will make your girl happy.

Have a great February!

xx

LOOKS: THE SAG AWARDS

I tried to look for outfits that I hadn't seen on the red carpet recently or that I didn't expect form the person that wore them. I'll be reviewing each look and explaining why I picked them. If you have any outfits that I didn't include, please feel free to comment them below. I will be posting a couple of movie predictions for the Oscars very soon! I just need to finish watching every single movie that's nominated, because the only one I've seen so far is Birdman, whoops...

Now let's look into my top looks at the SAG awards!

Lupita Nyong'o: Elie Saab: She looks absolutely stunning here. I didn't particularly care for her Golden Globes ensemble, because of the fuzzy floral look it had, but that's just my taste! I really adore this look on her though. The dresses color tones flows so well with her skin, and her hair and makeup almost blend into the dresses colors. I know that she tends to like doing that with her outfits, and she is one of the only people that always seems to pull off the makeup matching gown look!

Felicty Jones: Balenciaga: Kelly Osbourne said some boring thing about how Felicity Jones was this year's Lupita Nyong'o, which is as annoying as it is untrue. She's not this year's Lupita Nyong'o, because this year's Lupita Nyong'o is Lupita Nyong'o. Anyway, I really loved the color of this dress and how it had this classic sort of neckline that draped across the shoulders. The color was simple and perfect for her, almost as if it were meant with her in mind.

Julianne Moore: Givenchy Couture: I'm completely surprised by Julianne Moore's choice in dress this evening. She does tend to pick this green color to wear to awards shows, because it contrasts beautifully with her hair, but the style of the dress is completely different than the styles she usually wears. Her other outfits are usually much more mature and tend to cover her up, but this one actually looks very casual and radiating on her. The color is perfect and the accents on it make her eyes look absolutely stunning.

Paula Patton: Ayesha: This dress has the most beautiful detailing from the white beads that geometrically triangulate from one another to the gold accents along her chest. I also love how her hair is pushed back to draw attention to the golden accenting. Her makeup is also stunning, giving her a nice dewy glow and warm eyes.

Uzo Aduba: Angel Sanchez: This yellow makes Uzo Aduba's skin literally glow. The pattern that it has cut on it makes it stand out from all the other dresses of the night and truly made her look gorgeous when she went up to accept her solid bronze award. The sleek, pulled back hair that she did drew the attention back to the dress and her stunning makeup. I always love to see her on the red carpet, because, although her looks are simple, they always tend to stand out.

Ariel Winter: Zac Posen: Ariel Winter is younger than me, but looks nearly 5 years older than her Modern Family co-star Sarah Hyland, 24, in this curve hugging dress. The color works phenomenally on her and contrasts incredibly with her dark, Snow White hair.

Emma Stone: Dior: This was my favorite look of the night. As soon as I saw Emma Stone, I knew that her look was the one I was going to put as my favorite on this list. I usually hate dresses like this, with the sheer part of the skirt to it, but I love the way she did it. It looked absolutely stunning on camera, with the way it flowed and hugged her slim figure.

ILLUSTRATE

I've been following several artists on Instagram for a while now and each time I find a new one I get so excited to see their form of expression. All artists are different, even if they're drawing the same things. My favorite part is seeing all the different styles of artists that I find on Instagram.

Here are a couple that I have really enjoyed looking at:

@polinydraws
This artist has a sort of surreal look to her colored pencil drawings. I love the alien look to the people she draws, and I also love how she does fashion sketches as well as cartoon sketches.

@aaronfavaloro
These are kind of like the last ones except they are mostly fashion inspired. This artists draws different outfits and creates these beautiful works of art that broadcast the different styles that he creates.

@joanaavillez
I don't know what it is about this artist that gives me this enormous sense of satisfaction, but I'm obsessed with the way she draws and how she makes these everyday items look so tiny and adorable. This artist actually did the illustrations for Lena Dunhams book: Not That Kind of Girl, which I might do a separate post about.

@valfre
I love illustrations that use these vibrant colors. This artist incorporates a lot of prints into their artwork and really adds this level of uniqueness to their drawings.

@ponyy_boyy
This artist is actually incredibly popular on Instagram and has had the honor of being regrammed by several celebrities (including the Kardashians) for his stylish fashion illustrations that he creates.

@badlydrawnmodels
For some reason I'm in love with the way this artist draws. I love the minimalism used and how the models that are picked are ones with unique faces that end up looking even more different in this style.

A couple of other artists that I really like and love to follow on Instagram are @hayden_williams, @leil.art, and @adnanghiats.
