INSPIRATION

I didn't consider this blog something that I could do regularly, but I want to now. Here are a couple of my fashion/makeup/hair/style inspirations.

Léa Seydoux

Rihanna

Audrey Hepburn circa 1950

Crystal Reed

Margot Tenenbaum (The Royal Tenenbaums)

There's a certain cleanliness to each look, a careless effortlessness. A lot of the inspiration actually comes from the hair: the chopped or concealed style that places attention strategically on the dynamics of the person's facial features. The trend between all of these might be that they have such strong faces. Léa Seydoux possesses these doe eyes that are surrounded by these under eye circles that go into her cheeks. It's a tired kind of look that she has, similar to the one Gwyneth Paltrow has in The Royal Tenenbaums. They are faces and styles that are created for themselves. The contrast of sharp hair is created by their Sleeping Beauty faces, like dolls.

What inspires me the most is the color contrast of their appearances.

This is the color of Seydoux's hair against the color of her eyes.

This is the color of Rihanna's fur shawl against the color of her skin.

The colors are complimentary, which is the key to how the contrasts work.
